About Us
The Magnificent Minds Project was created by Syngred D. Briddell-Watts, a mental health professional that has worked with individuals who have mental illness and developmental disabilities for over 17 years. Syngred completed her MSW at Temple University, specializing in Mental Health policy and administration. She obtained her BSW at Shippensburg University. Syngred was also awarded a Citation for Heroism by Mayor Steven Reed, of Harrisburg PA, for the successful intervention of a suicide attempt on the Harvey Taylor Bridge. Syngred previously served on the Board of Directors for Equality PA and currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Mental Heatlh Association in PA.
Syngred is the daughter of two artists and is an artist herself. She grew up seeing and experiencing firsthand the therapeutic aspects of art. Syngred created the Magnificent Minds Project out of a passion for art and a realization that the stigma associated with mental illness ignores the incredible contributions that have been made to our society by those with mental illness. Through the Magnificent Minds Project, we recognize that there are tremendously talented artists with mental illness who have very little access to their local art community and few opportunities to display their art in the community. We seek to create a growing network of supporters, utilizing any vehicle that will promote understanding, options and opportunities for artists with mental illness.
Artists are able to display their work on this site as the “Featured Artist” free of charge. We also have launched a second website www.magnificentminds.net, which is an online art Gallery. It is solely devoted to displaying artist work and information.
To display your art on either site or for additional information please contact us at :
